Brighton Tazarurwa
Creative Director

Brighton kick-started his career in an advertising agency which specialised in print design in 2001. His true calling lay in electronic media and in no time he moved to join one of the biggest production houses at that time as a video editor.
The experience he garnered during his two year stay there coupled with a desire to achieve more compelled him to branch out on his own as a freelance film director as well as video editor until 2005 when he founded Phenom Media Productions. He has produced and directed numerous award-winning short films, television commercials, music videos and documentaries some of which feature on our show reel.
His ambition and drive has taken him further culminating in him venturing into the demanding world of film. He has twice in a row won best director award for the best short film an honour bestowed to him by the Zimbabwe International Film Festival Trust. These achievements have seen him travel abroad to other international film festivals to showcase his works and proudly fly the country’s flag high.
Brighton is inarguably one of the country‘s best animator and graphic artists and again some of his works appear on our show reel.

Anthony Mutambira
Head of Technical Operations

Anthony has more than 10 years experience in various capacities in the film and television industry. This has undoubtedly made him Phenom’s team leader hence his title and post.
He did his training with UNESCO Zimbabwe Film and Video Training Programme in 2000 where he wrote and directed two short films after which he began to freelance as a cameraman.
He has constantly been part of notable productions in the country behind the camera. In 2004 he joined Savannah Media Centre as production director and went on to produce and direct a series of documentaries for Zimtrade which were shown at that year’s World Expo in Aichi, Japan.
Anthony has also directed the first reality television programme in Zambia and has also been an episode director for the television soap, Kabanana. Anthony has directed numerous television adverts and programmes in Zimbabwe and in the region.
His experience has had a profound effect on our company and we are proud to have one of the best directors of photography within our ranks.

Tonderai Gonorenda:
Operations Director

A graduate in Broadcast Journalism from Harare Polytechnic, Tonderai has managed over the years to amass experience both on the technical side and administrative aspect of television production.
A two year stint at one of the biggest production houses in the country has made Tonderai one of the best all rounder in the field with unparalleled ability to not only operate a camera but also to assemble all the necessary elements critical for any production.
As a founder member of Phenom his ability for administration and client relations was quickly put into practice and to this day he still handles our client relations issues.
